When I make random marks on my canvas, these marks are supported and held in place by previous daubs of paint. Colours are chosen to support a mood, a sense of place and time and to unite the evolving image. Lochs and seashores abound in mystery and changing forms, it is from the memories of these places that my paintings take shape. This constant flux excites me, driving me to express what I can no longer see but is forever held in the minds eye.
